Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

We had out interview on February 2+, 2021. The officer asked me a few questions about my husbands family and asked my husband EVERY question on the original application. My husband was a bit nervous because we didn't hire an interpreter but I knew his English was good enough to get us through the interview and I was right, it was. The Officer offered and even tried to get an interpreter on the phone but the connection was so bad we told him it was not necessary. While we were waiting for the interviewer to come get us we witnessed several officers interacting with other applicants and they were all so friendly and pleasant. Our interviewer did not smile once and was not the friendliest person. I'm not going to say he was homophobic, but.... At the end of the interview he told us it would be about 30 days before we received a decision because they were "backed up". one week later we received a Request for evidence. My husband declined getting vaccinated in Bogota, so we had to provide evidence that he has been vaccinated. He is a member of Kaiser and had all his vaccinations done there, we downloaded his record of vaccinations but we had to make an appointment at an USCIS civil Surgeon so they could provide the vaccination record. $180 to simply forward what has already been done. UGH. We Fed-Ex the packet to the SF office and it was signed for and received on March 9, 2021 As I write this it is March 21,2021 and I'm a bit frustrated at the length of time it is taking. I follow similar VJ timelines at the SF field office and the one closest to ours, filed their I-485 two weeks before we file, they were interviewed one month before we were interviewed and the were approved the same day as their interview, they received their green card one week after the interview. It seems like such an arbitrary system, some officers move swiftly and others drag their feet. We got one who drags his feet. What really bothers me is that during the interview we told the officer that my husband had just completed an interview and he hoped to be offered the job. Well, he was offered the job the next day and we included that information in a letter to the interviewing officer asking that they expedite the process because of the job offer, but no one has bothered to contact us to let us know any kind of timeline or whether further information was needed. So, almost two weeks after satisfying the "request for evidence" we still know nothing. I'm trying to be parient, but the fact that there is absolutely ZERO communication is extremely frustrating.

We arrived 30 mins earlier and they were still able to process our check in.
You are required to have your bag checked and metal detector prior to entering the building. We were advised to proceed to the appropriate floor where we met with the receptionist who would confirm our appointment.

There were three other couples waiting and in a matter of 10mins, we were called to the office room. The individual who interviewed us asked general questions such as if I were married before, when was our wedding, she asked for documents and kept them. I was glad I neatly organized so whatever she asked for, I simply slipped it out of the pockets from the binders that I had brought with me.

Review Topic: Naturalization

Mine was a combo I751 and N400 interview. I got called in 5 mins after scheduled time. The interviewer started by saying you didn't bring your spouse otherwise we could do a combo interview. I explained to her that due to my travel on the same day from another city she had to take my bags from airport to home since USCIS office doesn't allow suitcase; thats why she could not come. She grilled me on that. I showed her my boarding pass and also told her that she can call her if needed. After that interviewer was calmer. She asked me how is relationship going, where all we traveled together etc. She asked for the last year's tax transcript which I gave her and she noted that we had filed together. Then asked me if I have anything to add to the application. I gave her last 3 months bank statements. Then she said she would recommend approval but a supervisor will take a call on it since I didnt have spouse with me. Then she moved to citizenship interview. First was civics and history test then reading test, and writing test. Then she asked me about work location and dates of job changes in last 2 years. She also wanted to know about 2 traffic tickets I had. I explained both to her. Then she said she is approving N400 and that I will get into oath line now. Whole interview took 1 hour and 10 mins.
